About Dillon Dev Diaries
Dillon Dev Diaries is a place on jamesdillon.uk where I document my projects.
I focus mainly on home labs, self-hosted services, coding, and electronics — building things that are practical, reliable, and actually useful day-to-day. This site is where I share how those projects come together, from initial ideas to working systems.
Some posts are detailed guides, others are shorter write-ups, but everything here is based on things I’ve built and tested myself.
What you’ll find here
- Home lab setups and infrastructure
- Self-hosted tools and services
- Coding projects and experiments
- Electronics and hardware builds
Alongside the finished results, I also include the process — what worked, what didn’t, and anything worth knowing if you’re trying something similar.
Why I write
This started as a way to document things for myself — so I don’t forget setups, configs, or decisions later on.
Over time, it’s become a place to share that knowledge more openly. If something here helps you build your own setup or solve a problem, then it’s done its job.
